Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data Duer (duer.club) keeps when you use the site and the app, what we use it for and what you can do about it. It describes what the product does today. If anything is unclear, email us at hola@duer.club.
Who is responsible
Duer (duer.club) is responsible for your data. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, email us at hola@duer.club.
What data we keep
We only keep what Duer needs to work. Depending on what you use:
- Your account. Your email. If you sign in with Google, also the name and profile picture Google shares with us. We store your sign-up date and, if you arrived from a creator's page or a campaign link, that origin (for example, the creator's @).
- Your progress. The Challenges you accept, when you started, the missions you complete, your points, your streak and your badges.
- What you write in missions. Answers, reflections, daily logs, scores, measurements and the goal you set when you start. It is private: we don't show it to other people or to the Challenge's creator.
- Proofs. If you leave a proof when you complete a mission, we store the note and the photo, if you upload one. They are private by default: other people only see them if you choose to make them public, and you can hide them again.
- Your routine. The habits you add to My Routine and the days you check them off.
- Social activity. The reviews you write, the Challenges you save with “I want to do this”, the creators you follow, the groups you create or join and the reactions you leave.
- Notifications. If you turn on push notifications, we store your browser's subscription (a technical address and its keys) so we can send you reminders.
- Purchases. If you buy or reserve a paid Challenge, we store the transaction record: Challenge, amount, currency, status and the payment processor's reference. We never see or store your card details: Mercado Pago or Stripe handle them.
- Forms. If you join a pre-sale waiting list or ask a creator for a Challenge, we store your email (and, for the request, the text you wrote) to pass it on. If you are a creator and write to us through the creator form, we store what you fill in: name, email, audience, topic, links and message.
- AI Coach. We count how many questions you ask per day, to limit usage. We don't store your conversations with the Coach in our database.
What other people can see
Almost everything about you is private. These are the exceptions:
- Reviews and public proofs. They appear on the Challenge's page with your first name; if you haven't set a name, they show “Someone”. We never show your email.
- The Club. People with a Duer account see the community's recent activity in the Club, with your first name: which Challenge you accepted or completed and which badges you earned. Your proofs only show up there if you made them public.
- Your groups. Members of your groups see when you make progress on or complete a Challenge, and your public proofs.
- The Challenge's creator. If the Challenge belongs to a creator with a dashboard on Duer, that creator sees your name, which Challenge you are doing, when you started and how many missions you completed. They only see your email if you ticked the box to hear from them. If you change your mind, email us and we turn it off; if the creator already copied your email, you'll have to ask them to delete it.
- Overall numbers. We show counts, such as how many people accepted a Challenge, without identifying anyone.
What we use your data for
- To provide the service: so you can sign in, save your progress, keep your streak and see your Challenges on any device.
- To send you the sign-in link and, while you have an active Challenge, a daily reminder of your next mission by email (and by push, if you turned it on). You get at most one a day, and they stop if you pause or leave the Challenge or after 7 days without activity. You can unsubscribe from the emails in your dashboard or with the link in each one. If you turned on notifications, we also remind you of your routine.
- So the AI Coach can answer with your Challenge's context (see “AI Coach”).
- To process purchases and reservations, and get the payment to the creator.
- To understand how Duer is used and improve it (see “Analytics”).
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
AI Coach
When you ask the AI Coach something, we send our AI provider (currently Google's Gemini API) your question and the context it needs to answer: the Challenge's structure, your progress, your goal and what you wrote in that Challenge. It is only sent when you use the Coach.
The answers are generated by artificial intelligence: they can be wrong and they don't replace help from a professional.
Who we work with
We use these providers to run Duer. Each one only gets the data it needs for its part:
- Vercel hosts the site and the app. Like any web server, it logs technical data about visits (IP address, browser and requested page).
- Neon is the database where your account and progress are stored.
- Resend sends the emails (sign-in link and reminders).
- Google handles Sign in with Google, if you choose it, and the Gemini API used by the AI Coach.
- Microsoft Clarity measures how the site is used (see “Analytics”).
- Mercado Pago and Stripe process payments for paid Challenges and pre-sales, when available.
- Your browser's push service (for example, Google's, Apple's or Mozilla's) delivers push notifications, if you turned them on.
- YouTube plays the videos when you press play (in its privacy-enhanced mode, youtube-nocookie.com). Thumbnails are also loaded from its servers.
Several of these providers process data outside your country. The database, for example, is in the United States.
Analytics
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how Duer is used: which pages people visit, where they tap and how far they scroll. Clarity creates heatmaps and session recordings, and uses its own cookies. We use it to find bugs and improve the design.
Cookies and local storage
We use few cookies:
- Session (the next-auth ones): keep you signed in and protect access. They are needed to sign in. A session lasts up to 30 days.
- Language (duer_lang and duer_langs): remember your language and any extra languages you chose. They last one year.
- Origin (duer_ref): if you arrive from a creator's page or a campaign link, it remembers that origin for 30 days so we know where your account came from.
- Sign-in email language (duer_auth_lang): stores for a few minutes the language you requested the link in, so we email you in that language.
- Microsoft Clarity: its analytics cookies (see “Analytics”).
Some tools in our guides (for example, the habit tracker or the wheel of life) save what you fill in to your browser's local storage. We also store there how much of each mission video you watched and whether you dismissed the install-the-app notice. That data never reaches our servers and is deleted when you clear the site's data in your browser.
How long we keep your data
- Your account and progress, for as long as you have an account.
- If you leave a Challenge, your progress in that Challenge is deleted: logs, answers, proofs and streak.
- If you remove a habit from your routine, it is deactivated and we keep the days you already checked off, which count toward your history.
- The sign-in link expires after 24 hours and works only once.
- If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and its associated data, except what we must keep by law (for example, payment records).
Your rights
You can ask us at any time:
- for a copy of your data;
- to correct something that is wrong;
- to delete your account and your data;
- to stop using your data for something specific (for example, to stop showing your email to a creator, or to stop sending you emails).
Email us at hola@duer.club from your account's email address, so we can confirm it's you. You can turn off push notifications in the app or in your browser settings.
If you live in the European Union or anywhere else with a data protection law, you can also file a complaint with your country's authority.
If you are a creator
Duer builds profiles and Challenges from the public content of YouTube channels. To do that we store public information about your channel: name, @, picture, banner, description, subscriber count and public videos.
To contact you we use the professional contact details you publish (for example, your channel's business email or your Instagram), and we keep a record of those contacts: date, channel and a summary. If we send you an invitation link, we record when you open it.
If you connect Mercado Pago or Stripe to get paid, we store your account ID and the permissions those services give us to create charges on your behalf.
You can hide your profile and your Challenges from your invitation link, or ask us to remove them by emailing hola@duer.club.
Minors
Duer is not meant for people under 16. If you think a minor has given us their data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything, we update this page and the “last updated” date.
